There are many ways in which you as an individual or as part of a group can volunteer:

Office Angel Volunteer – Office volunteers are needed at the Family Promise Day Center to work one of three daily shifts. Responsibilities include answering the phone, light office work, and some interaction with the families. Shifts are as follows Monday through Friday:

  • 7:30 am to 9:30 am
  • 9:30 am to 1:00 pm
  • 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm

Family Mentor - Mentors help build committed, trusting relationships with low-income families that are facing enormouse stress. Mentors listen. They offer understanding and respect. They help families overcome challenges and disappointments and celebrate successes. All mentors are screened and receive comprehensive training before being matched with a family.  Mentors are asked to make a one year commitment and to give the gift of 1-2 hours of time to their family each week.

Truck Driver – Every Sunday morning at 7:00 am a volunteer driver will arrive at the Host Congregation in a 14 foot box truck and pick up the belongings of the families and transport these items back to the Family Promise Day Center. At 2:00 pm Sunday afternoon another volunteer driver will drive the truck to the next Host Congregation and deliver the items for the families. Volunteers will be at each church to assist with loading and unloading of items.
